If you are seeking a build method that is energy efficient, simple to use, fast to construct, and cost-effective then British-manufactured Ecobrix (formerly known as Durisol) insulated concrete form (ICF) units are the solution you are looking for.
Ecobrix can save you up to 30% compared to the cost of traditional brick and block masonry. Follow link below to find out more about the specific benefits.
Ecobrix woodcrete insulated concrete form (ICF) wall units are formed from cement-bonded wood fibre material.
The specially graded recycled waste wood is initially chipped into wood fibre and then mineralised and bonded together with Cem 1 cement. Recycled Ecobrix wall form units are also used as part of the mixing process, as it acts as a filler.
Limestone grit is added to the mix for internal wall units, as it helps with acoustic properties.
The cement-bonded wood fibre mix is then moulded and stamped out to form the many shapes that comprise the full range of Ecobrix wall form units. Once the Ecobrix units have been produced, external wall units are filled with PIR insulation.
The Ecobrix system consists of four widths of wall form unit – two with insulation and two without. The wider 365 unit can also be used without insulation as the permanent formwork for large retaining walls. In addition, the face units are for jambs and internal return as well as being used to form in-situ cast lintels which reduces cost.
